Cameroon World Cup 2022 Preview
Cameroon repeatedly created quite good scoring opportunities against Switzerland, but could not build up enough pressure to seriously threaten the Swiss. Especially towards the end of the first half, Cameroon had the opportunity to hurt the Swiss, but immediately after the break, Rigobert Song’s team conceded the decisive goal through Breel Embolo at an unfavorable moment.
However, some of Cameroon’s players proved that they can be quite dangerous. Although Karl Toko Ekambi did not put in his best performance against Switzerland, Bryan Mbeumo and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting repeatedly provided good moments. In addition, midfielders Martin Hongla and Frank Zambo Anguissa were also strong.
Against Serbia, however, Cameroon will have to provide more punch. Team boss Song is not expected to make any changes to his attacking formation because the Cameroon squad is not exactly wide either. So, it will probably be the same players who will have to do the job.
It is also obvious that Cameroon will have to be more robust against Serbia. Against Switzerland, the Africans won only 38% of their duels, which is simply not enough at this level.

Serbia World Cup 2022 Preview
As expected, the Serbian national team reached its limits against one of the big tournament favorites, Brazil. Serbia were only occasionally convincing, for example when they managed to make good use of their star players in the attacking midfield line, Dusan Tadic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Against the strong Brazilian team, however, especially the defensive midfield with Nemanja Gudelj and Sasa Lukic was not good enough and also the defenders had their problems again and again. The exception here was Nikola Milenkovic, who showed a great performance.
With team boss Dragan Stojkovic substituting both defensive midfielders and both wing-backs during the match, Serbia are expected to field a different starting eleven against Cameroon. Stojkovic is likely to adopt a more attacking approach and may even start a second attacker in the form of Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbians only managed to achieve an expected goals value of 0.22 against Brazil, which is of course extremely low, but the match against the five-time world champions will also not be a measure for the further tasks. The Serbians have to earn their points against Cameroon and Switzerland anyway.
We will therefore see a different Serbian team – both in terms of line-up and direction.

Team comparison Cameroon vs. Serbia
In favor of Cameroon:
+ The attacking line with Choupo-Moting, Toko Ekambi and Mbeumo is always good for moments of surprise.
+ Overall, the Cameroon centre backs have looked stable of late
+ With André Onana, they have a very reliable back-up at their disposal
In favor of Serbia:
+ Good individual class in the attack
+ Cameroon have problems in midfield
+ Large squad width, especially in the attack
The last duel
The match between Cameroon and Serbia has only happened once before in football history: In June 2010, Cameroon visited Belgrade for a friendly match and lost 4-3 in a spectacular encounter. Even then, more than 12 years ago, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored a goal for the Cameroonians.
Cameroon – Serbia Over Under Prediction
Both Cameroon and Serbia did not necessarily give the impression of being able to score many goals in their first matches. While there are highly skilled attackers on both sides, both teams have problems in creating scoring opportunities. However, these problems exist under different circumstances, as Serbia obviously had a much harder time against Brazil than Cameroon did against Switzerland.
However, it will be even more difficult for Cameroon against Serbia than against the Swiss, because Brazil also had a problem or two with Serbia’s three-man defence for long stretches of the game. We therefore expect that Cameroon will not be able to create more scoring opportunities than they did against Switzerland, and since defense is the top priority for Rigobert Song’s team, Serbia will also only create good opportunities at times.
We therefore bet on an “Under 2.5”, i.e. a maximum of two goals scored in the match.

Cameroon – Serbia Prediction
Despite the loss in their opening match against the high favourites Brazil, we rate Serbia slightly stronger than Switzerland, who in turn defeated Cameroon in their first match.
It’s getting harder and harder for the team from Cameroon and the African side has already given away its biggest opportunity to win a point in the first match against Switzerland. We are therefore betting on a win for Serbia, who are already used to a different pace from the first game and will also be able to create scoring opportunities this time.

Cameroon – Serbia Correct Score Bet
Unlike against Brazil, Serbia will manage to use its strong attacking players in the right way this time. Mitrovic, Vlahovic and Co. will thus create scoring opportunities for the first time and the attacking midfield of the Serbs is also known to be prone to scoring goals.
Serbia should therefore be able to score a goal or two against the Cameroonians and we opt for a Cameroon Serbia result bet of 2-0 for Serbia.
