In 2021, in addition to the Champions League and the Europa League, a third competition was established in which “smaller” teams in particular should get a chance to prove themselves on an international level.
The UEFA Europa Conference League is structured in exactly the same way as the two larger international competitions: The group stage consists of eight groups, and the group winners qualify directly for the round of 16 of the new competition. The runners-up have to play against the third-placed team in the UEFA Europa League groups in order to qualify for the round of 16.

Conference League Football Betting – latest odds
Who will win the Europa Conference League in 2022 and become the first winner in the new competition? Since the third-placed teams of the Europa League will enter the Europa Conference League after a “round of 16 playoffs”, the biggest favourites could still appear later over the course of the tournament. Therefore, it is difficult to guess which team will win the competition before the tournament starts.
The unpredictability of the tournament makes betting on the overall winner difficult before the matches start, but also very lucrative. Before the start of the competition, the top bookmakers see Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma as favourites.

Before the tournament, the English Premier League’s Tottenham Hotspur is the favourite of most bookmakers, to win the first ever UEFA Europa Conference League. Since the “Spurs” usually compete in the UEFA Champions League every year, this assessment is not surprising.
The UEFA Cup winners of 1972 and 1984 have long been waiting for the next big hit in European club football, and will certainly see the Europa Conference League as a great opportunity to soon be able to lift a trophy again.
In advance of the competition, the bookmakers consider AS Roma, one of the big traditional clubs of the Italian Serie A, to be Tottenham’s hottest competitor. The last championship title of the Romans dates from 2001, and the Giallorossi have not yet won any titles at international level. Nevertheless, the Italians are consistently in second place among the bookmakers’ favourites for the title at this point before the tournament.
The teams that are rated as the next strongest by the bookmakers then follow at a considerable gap. You can earn 15 to 20 times your stake with bets on the Europa Conference League victory of one of these teams. These teams include Stade Rennes from the French Ligue 1, Feyenoord Rotterdam from the Dutch Eredivisie and Union Berlin from the German Bundesliga.

Who qualifies for the Europa Conference League
The initial starting places for the Europa Conference League and the Europa Conference League qualification will be played out via the domestic championships, whereby the better-placed nations regarding to the UEFA coefficient can look forward to more starting places for the new competition.
There are a total of four qualifying rounds, each of which is played with a home and an away leg. European champions who are eliminated in the first round of the Champions League qualification move to the second qualifying round for the Europa Conference League.
The losers in the third qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League will eventually move on to the playoffs for the Europa Conference League, i. e. the last qualifying round before the group stage.
All 32 participants in the group stage of the new competition will qualify through the qualification process – 22 of them as winners of the Europa Conference League playoffs, and 10 as losers of the Europa League playoffs. No team qualifies directly for the group stage of the Europa Conference League.
Europa Conference League Format
With the establishment of the Europa Conference League, the format of the three international competitions is now consistent. The Champions League relates to the Europa League in the same way as the Europa League relates to the Europa Conference League.
In concrete terms, this means that all three competitions will now be held in eight groups of four teams each and that after the group phase, the third group will have the chance to move downwards.
All group winners of the Europa Conference League qualify directly for the round of 16. The runners-up compete in a playoff against the third-placed team of the UEFA Europa League and play for the remaining places in the round of 16. The games of this playoff will be randomly drawn.
This is the same procedure as takes place between the Champions League and the Europa League. After the playoffs, the round of 16 matches will be played in all competitions and the usual path to the final or to the title follows.

Europa Conference League prize money 2021/22
Although the UEFA Europa Conference League appears less attractive than the Europa League, and the star line-up is nowhere near as prominent, the clubs can earn really good money by participating in the new competition. The differences in the prize money and points bonuses compared to the Europa League are only very small. The difference between the Champions League and the Europa League is significantly greater.
Qualifying for the group stage brings a respectable € 2,940,000 and thus only about € 700,000 less than qualifying for the Europa League group stage. A single win in the group stage brings in half a million Euros. Group winners receive another € 650,000.UEFA
This means that qualifying for the group stage and taking six wins from six games would result in revenues of almost 6.6 million Euros – and this does not include ticket sales. So it definitely pays to take the new competition seriously and do everything possible to win here. This money pot is a source of income that should not be despised, especially for smaller clubs.
On the way to the title, there are more promotion bonuses with each round. The eventual winner of the tournament will stand to collect a total of 11.6 million Euros in bonuses by the time the final whistle blows. In addition, the tournament winner will receive a fixed entry for the UEFA Europa League for the following
|Starting money group stage||€2,940,000.-|
|Group stage match win||€500,000.-|
|Group stage match draw||€166,000.-|
|Final round-playoff (second group stage)||€325,000.-|
|Round of 16||€600,000.-|

Where will the Europa Conference League Final 2022 take place?
The first final of the Europa Conference League is planned to take place in the Albanian capital of Tirana. The extremely cramped national stadium of Tirana holds 22,000 fans and was only opened in November 2019 after over three years of construction. The brand-new arena cost 75 million Euros, and, for a small football country like Albania, it is of course a great honor to be able to host the first final of the new competition.
