Betsson Betting Site, Mobile Site / App
An attractive site with a clear lay-out, simple navigation, and a good flowing design are the first impressions of the Betsson website. As you would expect from such a well-established online presence, everything is just where it should be: The most popular links are listed at the top of the left-hand sidebar, followed by a list of all sports available for betting.
The centre of the screen shows the event listings for the selected sport. On clicking on a particular match, a new slider opens next to the match listings. This provides all the information one needs to place a bet in the selected match (bets types, configurations, bet builder, specials), as well as providing in-depth player and match statistics, all in one place. Chosen bet selections are added to the bet slip on the right-hand side.

Note that Horse Racing is listed as a section in its own right along the top bar. The set up for this section is slightly different to that of the Sportsbook, although it still follows the same clear layout, with a comprehensive list of races in the sidebar on the left.
Races can be sorted by date and type, and the betting options available for each race appear in the centre of the screen. Live streams, offers and in-depth statistics are also available, and can be selected from the main menu at the top.
Placing bets online with Betsson
Registered users can easily place bets with Betsson. Following the selection of a sport, all events for that sport are displayed in the centre of the screen, sorted by most popular first. Taking football as an example, each match is shown with the most popular bets, Match Result and Over/Under Goals, listed next to it for quick selection. An arrow pointing to the right shows the number of markets available for the match.
During our test, this was 165 for most matches! Clicking on the arrow, brings up the detailed information slider for the match on the right. The types of bet available are summarised under a series of filter tabs (“Popular”, “Goals”, “Handicaps”, “Halves” etc.) to make it easy to find what you are looking for.
The Bet Builder can be found here as well. Bet selections can be made by clicking on the relevant Odds button. All bets selected are listed on the bet slip on the far right of the screen. The bet slip provides information at a glance: bets selected and current odds (which adjust automatically if there is a change before the bet is placed), bet stake add/change, potential returns, and total bet stake.
The bet slip consists of three handy tabs: Single, Combination and System. There are even simple “next step” instructions provided for the Combination & System tabs.
Mobile appearance & app
The Betsson mobile site is well laid-out with large easy-to-use buttons. As with the desktop site, navigation is simple. The Welcome screen shows the most popular options in the sportsbook listed first. All menu options can be accessed via the hamburger menu in the top left hand corner.
Entering the Football section on the mobile browser bears a strong similarity to the desktop version: The most popular football matches are displayed in the middle of the screen – from there the user can then choose to view all markets and statistics available for each match.
Selected bets appear on the bet slip which slides up from the bottom of the screen. While browsing this is minimised to save space. Clicking on the arrow on the top left returns the user to the previous section.
The Betsson mobile app is available for download for both Android and iOS. The latest Android app can be downloaded from Betsson directly, while the iOS app is available from the Apple store. Both have the same easy navigation found on the desktop betting site and the mobile site, and live betting and account management functions are supported.
Betsson Sportsbook
Betsson has over 30 sports available to choose from. The greatest number of markets and statistics is found in the football section, but even for more specialist sports, such as Mixed Martial Arts, there is a good choice of betting available.
As can be guessed from Betsson’s Scandinavian origins and popularity, there is also a very well-populated section on ice hockey – for the popular matches over 60 markets are available, together with detailed statistics. All the local leagues are listed as well. This should really appeal to ice hockey fans. American football and baseball also have a great choice of betting, with over 60 bets listed for many matches.
For football and ice hockey all the types of bet you would expect to see in a well-set up sportsbook are available: from the simple match results bet and Over/Under to handicaps, half time/full time, score predictions and special bets.

On the day of our review, live betting was available for football, basketball, tennis, baseball, handball and ice hockey, as well as eSports. All live betting can be accessed with one click from the main menu.
Events with live betting are also highlighted in their respective sections. The process for live betting during an event is straightforward with popular bets like Over/Under, handicaps and scores being easily selectable.
Both desktop and mobile, including Android and iOS apps feature live streaming of events. All that is required to stream competitions is a Betsson account with a positive balance. Live scoreboards and in-depth statistics are available for all matches that allow live betting.
As well as match play animations, there are animated charts with match statistics that update as events are happening. In all, Betsson’s live betting experience is designed to give the player the best chance of making an informed decision on their bet.
Betting Odds and Payout Rates at Betsson
Betsson offers decent odds on all popular sports and events. It should be remembered that bookmakers retain a small margin from each winning bet to cover costs, pay staff etc. The remainder is the payout rate, which is paid out in winnings. This is usually a percentage of somewhere around 90 to 95 percent for most bookmakers. At Betsson this ranges from 92-94 percent for most popular events, with rates of up to 95 percent given to top events in football, tennis and hockey.
Betsson’s live betting also benefits from comparably good payout rates, with odds being updated continuously to reflect the latest developments. Betsson offers an efficient bet settlement process, with winnings for most bets being paid out within 15 minutes or less.
Betsson’s Cash Out option
The Cash Out feature allows a player to withdraw funds from a bet early. This provides additional safety if fortunes change during a match or during a long-term bet, and is therefore very popular with fans of sports betting. Betsson has this feature available across most of their sports and competitions.
Each bet that offers Cash Out is clearly marked with the Cash Out icon, both in the competition listing and on the bet slip, under Open Bets. However, Betsson notes, Cash Out is not available for free bets, risk free bets or combination bets (unless each individual leg or event is eligible for Cash Out) and also not on system bets.
Our review found that almost all regular bets are covered by the Cash Out feature, which is great news for players. However, some bet types (e. g. Double Chance) and special offers are not, so it pays to check carefully before placing a bet.
Betsson Registration and Bonus Promotions
Betsson allows registrations from all players resident in areas covered by their licenses. Registration is simple and the account is opened for use straight away, although documentation still has to be provided for identification purposes.
New customers can register by clicking the Create Account button – this opens a new page with fields for all the necessary information, including choosing an account user name and password, as well as an optional deposit limit for their account.
Betsson offer two promotions in one to new customer sign ups.
- The first is that they will match your first deposit in free betting credit up to a value of €100.
- The second is an additional free €10 bet.
The customer is able to claim the first bonus when making their deposit. Betsson states that, to qualify, your bonus amount needs to be wagered 12-fold or greater in the Sportsbook within 30 days. Almost all types of bet qualify (but not system bets, cashed out bets or special offers).
€10 free bet can simply be used at any time within 7 days of activating Betsson’s sports welcome offer. Both promotions can only be used with bets where the odds are 1.5 or higher. Deposits made with Skrill or Neteller are excluded from the offer.
Betsson has regular promotions for existing customers
Betsson has several attractive promotions for their regular customers. These include personalised Price Boosts (best odds on selected bets in your favourite sports), free bets, and Acca promotions on football, American football, basketball, hockey and tennis, where special accumulators are offered with enhanced odds.
Example of Betsson’s Enhanced Acca promotion: Football World Cup Qualifiers “Colombia + Argentina + Brazil All to win”. Enhanced odds were given at 3.5, whereas picking each winner as part of a combination bet would only have resulted in odds of 3.2.

FAQ: The Betsson Betting Account
In order to take advantage of Betsson’s betting on offer and to receive special promotions each customer needs to register their own account. As part of your registration you will also be asked to submit documents for identification purposes. This serves to complete the legally required checks for online gambling.

Cherry AB, the company that was later to become Betsson, originated in Sweden in 1963, initially as a roulette salon, then went on to become a provider of slot machines. More countries were added to its area of operations over time, and the big step came in the 1990s with a number of casino investments.
